"Education at its best"

A review of Alpha Tutorials (Leicester) by Hash Chandarana written on Monday 9th of July 2012

Alpha Tutorials is a registered charity that enables young people as well as those adults who are unemployed in the community of Leicester. in order to provide free education to adults, we have to charge an annual fee for pre-18 children to study the main core subjects, namely Maths, English and Science. With money generated, after paying tutor costs and overheads, we are able to provide free Internet Access to Adults who may not be able to afford Internet Access or have a computer at home. Unfortunately, due to the location of Alpha, most of the unemployed adults are from the BME community, over 40 years of age and with no transferable skills or lack of English Skills. We rely on resources from Colleges or donations. We are a team of 20 teachers giving up valuable time and the results speak for themselves.
Please encourage adults who need basic help in Maths or English to come to our centre. We welcome people who are socially excluded. We are an exam centre and welcome private candidates to take exams for GCSE 's and A Levels for AQA, OCR, EDEXCEL boards. We have partnerships with other Educational providers.
