"Cancel by turning up"

I tried to cancel my appointment by ringing the surgery, Everytime sorry no one available to answer your call, so I gave up. I then went down to the surgery, which is a car ride away, to cancel, but instead decided to see the doctor, and waste his time. also tried to cancel online, couldn,t cancel this way either.How stupid is this. I did tell reception, and the doctor what had happened, they know about the problem, but it never gets fixed. You sit waiting to see a doctor, and it comes up on the screen how many people have missed their appointment in the last month,how many have tried to cancel and couldn,t. Idiotic dosen,t come into it.
