I was sent here because Sparkenhoe school wasn't ready(it was a brand new build )I soon settled in and got used to the smell.and the age of the building. There was a huge wooden rocking horse in my classroom and we each had a rush mat which we sat on(for stories)and slept on(we had a compulsory nap)My teacher was kind though I'm ashamed to say I don't remember her name.Perhaps. you will forgive me when I confess that this was 1950 and my name was Lesley Simpson .
