I used the youth club back in the good old days...we had disco nights and we were allowed to play our own music most nights to entertain the friends there..We loved our youth club and respected the helpers...most of which were teachers from our own schools...mine being Ellis...Mr Grahame Pearson and his wife Rosemary helped run it along side a man we just called Ron...It gave us somewhere to go and stopped a lot of trouble on the Mowmacre Hill and Stocking Farm areas, there wasnt any Beaumont leys in those days, it was just miles of open feilds and riding schools. The highlight of the week was the nights our youthclub was open.was fun and just 10p for the night and a coffee from the small cafe ran by the helpers and a packet of crisps..a football table and ping pong table was all we had but we found plenty to do :)
