Mixed views about ColourBank on Cavendish road in Leicester.

We've bought a carpet from here in the past and received good service.

This time we bought a carpet and had it fitted by their fitters.

All went well until we noticed straight away that our new carpet had a fault with it.

It looked like a medium dark brown carpet in the shop but once fitted it looked medium brown when looking at it from one end of our living room, very light brown when looking at it from the other end of our living room and some parts looked medium brown wherever it was viewed from.

I rang ColourBank and explained the issue.

They sent out a rep who took photos and wrote some notes and he himself said it looks like something called pile reversal (which is a manufactures fault with the carpet).

Around 10 days later we were informed by ColourBank that the manufacture agreed that it is a faulty carpet.

But ColourBank still wanted to charge me to have it replaced even though the next carpet we chose was cheaper than the original faulty one!

The really annoying part was that I had to spell it out to the man at ColourBank that I'm entitled to either a refund for the faulty carpet (and they can take the faulty carpet back) or a new carpet without charge because I've already paid around £560 for the new carpet + an extra £62 for fitting.

Eventually he agreed to replace the faulty carpet with a new one without extra cost to me.

Also, when the carpet fitters took up our faulty carpet they said that some grippers (underneath the carpet) had not been put down where they should've been by the previous fitters.

They then put down the extra grippers and did a really nice, professional job of fitting our new carpet.

We are 'finally' very pleased with our new carpet.

Although due to these issues (especially the trouble we had in getting a replacement carpet from ColourBank without having to pay more money out) and the fact that it took around 2 months from the date I bought the 1st faulty carpet to getting our new carpet fitted, we will NOT be using colourbank again for our carpets in the future..
