Mr MC Coy compared to me ( and I am 65 ) you are a techno wizard ! I always thought I was intelligent but Barclays UK has made me doubt my own sanity.I am in Barclays version of a Kafkaesque situation : the " Gone Away Marker" . This entails Barclays
a.) Not sending out my new debit card automatically.
b.) Said debit card being lost in the post/ stolen.
The next stage in the game is to contact telephone banking after waiting patiently for a month expecting my new debit cards arrival. Then to be informed that the reason it has not been sent is because Barclays has slapped a " Gone Away Marker" on my account.Why? They can't say and they can't send out a new debit card either.Ok but you can remove the marker now that I have telephoned ? No. But I haven't "Gone Away", it's not my fault! Silence.
" The Gone Away Marker" seems to be Barclays version of giving you the Black Spot. Have I done anything naughty to deserve it? No I just didn't receive delivery.Not my fault Barclays..
