"Not a happy time for me"

I was there from April 1964 till July 1965. Mr & Mrs Eldridge were the matron & sir running it. It was just before my 10th birthday when I was torn from my mums arms and put into the attic bedroom next to the stairs. My parents weren’t allowed to visit me for 4 week. There were many things that happened to me whilst I was there that shouldn’t have and I was frightened to tell anyone. I am now nearly 70 and I can still get upset about it all. When I was 50 I contacted Leicestershire social services and put in writing all that had happened to me with names etc. They came back to me saying there were no records of those years so couldn’t help..
