"Jumping through hoops"

I work full time and cannot get an appointment to see a GP - I have been trying for 2 weeks now. The usual response is "Nothing left, ring back tomorrow." By the time I get to work in the morning and ring the surgery for an appointment, it is too late and am told to ring back the next day.And the same thing happens the next day. This is both time consuming (and costly) for me and the staff on the end of the phone. Why is it so difficult to make an appointment? I need to see a GP, not a clincian. Can't waste time seeing a clincian who then says "Can't deal with you, you will have to see a GP, wait outside." I know she can't deal with my problem so it a complete and utter waste of her time and my time. Still have not managed to get an appointment. Saw receptionist today who told me that it was unlikely I would get an appointment in the near future because two of the GPs are getting married, Royal Wedding and forthcoming Bank Holidays. Have sought medical advice from phamacy and been advised to see GP. I am tired of jumping through hoops..
